Who I Am Not.

I am not what I do.

I run.  I am not a runner.
I sing.  I am not a singer.
I write.  I am not a writer.
I love.  I am not a lover.

I am not these things because I am more than these things.  I am a runner AND a singer AND a writer AND a lover AND......

I am not what I feel.

I feel happy.  I am not happiness.
I feel sad.  I am not sadness.

I am not these feelings because I am more than these feelings.  I am happiness AND sadness AND.....

I am not what I think.

I am not what I know.

I am not........

I am not what I know, or what I think, or what I feel, or what I do -- though I do contain these dimensions.  These are expressions of me.

The truth is I am the one who gives rise to these experiences, these doings, these feelings, these thoughts, this knowledge.  I am the source of life lived, experiences had.  I am the space in which these doings and feelings and thinkings and knowings exist.  I am empty.  It is through these means that I become full, real-ized.  Once the experience fades, once the doing is done, once the feeling is felt, once the thinking is thought and the knowing is known, it is I who remains. I am what is left when everything else has passed.  All else is but a twinkling star in a vast night sky.

I am not a runner for when the running is done, I am still here.
I am not a singer for when the singing is sung, I am still here.

I am not what I feel for after I have felt, I am still here.

I am not what I think for after the thought passes, I am still here.

I am not what I know for after I am finished knowing, I am still here.

All these things and more exist in Me.
